                   Coach Bob Hannah marks 900th win
     
     Bob Hannah, UD head baseball coach, notched his 900th
victory March 9, as the Blue Hens defeated North Carolina-
Wilmington 12-8. The win makes Hannah the 24th coach in NCAA
Division I history, and the 16th active Division I coach, to
reach the 900-win plateau.
     His career record after 33 seasons at Delaware is 900-
401-3. He began the 1997 season ranked seventh among active
Division I coaches with a winning percentage of .690.
     Hannah has led the Hens to 16 regular-season conference
championships and eight NCAA regional appearances, as well
as a berth in the 1970 College World Series. His teams have
posted winning records in 30 of his 32 years at Delaware,
and he has been named NCAA East District Coach of the Year
five times.
     Hannah was inducted into the American Baseball Coaches
Association Hall of Fame in 1991.
