                           Official opening
     
     Demonstrations, displays and information were part of
the formal opening Feb. 10 of the Mathematics and Science
Education Resource Center (MSERC) in the College of Urban
Affairs and Public Policy in Pearson Hall.
     Joseph Miller Jr., senior vice president for research
and development and chief technology officer at the DuPont
Co., presented remarks.
     Jennifer Johnson (above, left), a graduate student in
the College of Education and a MSERC research assistant,
offers information to a group that included Del. Gov. Thomas
R. Carper, Delaware '75M (right), representatives of various
UD departments and a number of campus visitors.
