Fashion show in Trabant center
     "Set It Off," a fashion show explosion, will be held at
4 p.m., Sunday, March 23, in the Trabant University Center.
     Features include a special guest host, music by disc
jockey Doc B, a surprise step show, hair demonstrations by
Salon December and an after-party at Mirage on Elkton Road.
     Proceeds from the event will benefit the United Negro
College Fund and the AIDS Foundation of Delaware.
     Tickets are $12 for the general public, $7 for UD
students and $10 for other college students and may be
purchased at the Trabant University Center and the Bob
Carpenter Center box offices; at Tickettown and The Music
Library, both in Wilmington; and at Apps Barber Shop in
Dover.
     The event is sponsored by Phi Beta Sigma, Marshall Inc.
and Short & Sweet Entertainment.

Video program set on ed technology
     "Educational Technology '97: Anything, Anytime,
Anywhere with Anyone" is the title of a satellite downlink
program today from 2:30-4 p.m., in Studio A, in 311 Pearson
Hall.
     Faculty, teaching assistants, professional staff and
others, including off-campus instructors, who teach are
invited to attend. This "how-to" video conference will
provide information on making both traditional and distance
learning courses more interactive, using the latest
multimedia tools and techniques.
     Two tool sets-LearningSpace and Web templates-will be
discussed that enable teachers to develop distributed
learning material quickly. Participants should arrive early.
The broadcast begins promptly at 2:30 p.m.

Photo exhibit by faculty member
     "A River Runs Through It: Daily Life in the Mekong
Delta," an exhibition of photographs by Mark McLeod,
history, will be displayed in Wilmington Friends School on
Sunday, March 2, in conjunction with a concert of Vietnamese
classical music.
     The concert, sponsored by People to People
International, begins at 2 p.m, and is free and open to the
public.
     
Student leaders conference set
     The second annual Delta Conference: Maximizing
Leadership Potential will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.,
Saturday, March 8, in the Trabant University Center.
     Sponsored by the Office of Greek Affairs, Panhellenic
and Interfraternity councils, this year's workshops include
legal liability and risk management, women in leadership,
conflict resolution, ethics in leadership and presenting
leadership skills on resumes.
     Keynote speaker will be Joseph Purzycki, Delaware '71
'77M, and director of sports marketing for MBNA America.
     Closing remarks will be given by Mary Friedman,
director of the Woodrow Wilson Foundation.
     The conference is open to all campus student leaders.
     The goal is to maximize the leadership potential of
each student. Other participants include Tim Brooks, dean of
students; Cheryl Davis and Rob Longwell-Grice, housing and
residence life; Ted Spiker, Delaware Today; and Amy Stalzer,
graduate assistant.
     Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend, but
advance registration is required.
     Sign-in begins at 9 a.m. and lunch is not included, but
it can be purchased in the center food court.

Chuck D will speak March 17
     "An Evening With Chuck D," a lecture presentation by
Chuck D of Public Enemy, will be held from 7-9 p.m., Monday,
March 17, in the Multipurpose Room of the Trabant University
Center.
     Admission is $2 for UD students and $5 for the general
public.
