High ranking in chemistry
For the 19th consecutive year, the UD is among the top
25 schools in the country when it comes to producing
students with bachelor's degrees in chemistry.
Rated 20 out of 614 schools on the American Chemical
Society's list of certified B.S. chemistry degree programs,
UD is in an elite group of 86 schools that have appeared on
the top 25 list since 1976 and among only seven schools to
have made the list for all l9 years.
The current ratings, which reflect numbers from the
1995 academic year, list UD with 27 graduates, in certified
degree programs and with 53 total chemistry graduates which
includes those earning a bachelor of science in biochemistry
and bachelor of arts degrees in chemistry and chemistry
education.
Since 1977, UD ranks seventh when looking at the number
of ACS-certified B.S. chemistry majors (597) who have been
granted degrees.
