Elkton Road hearing The Delaware Department of Transportation will hold a public workshop about improvements to Elkton Road, New London Road and Main Street from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 25, in the City Council Chamber in the Newark Town Hall, 220 Elkton Rd. The project involves proposals to provide two-way traffic on New London Road, between Cleveland Avenue and Main Street; two-way traffic on Elkton Road, between Main Street and Delaware Avenue; and improvements in pedestrian and bicycle accommodations. Interested persons are invited to express their views, in writing, giving reasons for support of, or opposition to, the draft findings and recommendations. Comments will be received at the workshop or can be mailed to DelDOTs External Affairs Office, P.O. Box 778, Dover, DE 19903. CPR classes The Department of Occupational Health and Safety is sponsoring several cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) classes. CPR for the Healthcare Professional will be offered two times, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturdays, March 15 and May 3, in the General Services Building. Cost is $21 per person and preregistration is required. CPR and Choking for Adult, Child and Infant will be offered two times, from 6-9 p.m., Wednesdays, April 16 and June 11, in the General Services Building. Yearbook photos There are two final opportunitiesfrom Feb. 24-28 and March 3-7to have a senior portrait taken for the Blue Hen yearbook. The sitting fee is $5. Seniors must sign up in advance, and sheets will be available during the week prior to the session outside the Yearbook Office, 234 Perkins Student Center. Pictures will be taken in Room 219. Blood drive Blood Bank of Delaware/Eastern Shore will hold two blood drives on campus from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 25-26, in Multipurpose Rooms A and B of the Trabant University Center. No appointments are necessary. UD employees, who also are Blood Bank members, will receive a membership credit for donating or they can give the credit to another member who is unable to give blood. Additional blood drives are scheduled March 25 and 26 in the Trabant University Center. Blood drives also are tentatively planned for April and May. During the 1995-96 school year, 797 members of the campus community gave blood during 13 UD blood drives. Dance lessons Learn the swing, cha cha, fox trot and other forms of dance in a 10- week session of beginning ballroom dance lessons, scheduled from 8-9 p.m., Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings, beginning March 2, 4 and 6 in the Pearson Hall gym. Intermediate lessons will be taught from 7-8 p.m., Thursdays, beginning March 6. Cost is $25 for full-time students and $50 for others. Private lessons are available for $20 per hour. The lessons are sponsored by the UD Ballroom Dance Club. The informational program will be held at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 25, in Multipurpose Room C of the Trabant University Center. WVUD needs staff for all aspects of broadcasting both on and off the air. The Washington, D.C., shuttle to the Library of Congress and the Folger Shakespeare Library is in operation during the spring semester to faculty and graduate students on Fridays only.
