Greg Smith (below, right), men's basketball senior from
Ashland, Va., became Delaware's all-time leading scorer with
1,616 points during the Blue Hens' 81-54 victory over New
Hampshire Feb. 15.
Smith scored 29 points during the game. His career total
passed Ken Luck (left), who had 1,613 points during his 1978-
82 seasons with the Hens.
After reaching the record, Smith went into the stands at
the Bob Carpenter Center and presented the game ball to
mother, Amanda Smith, (shown in photo on right).
Smith also is the America East scoring, rebounding and
field goal leader and he has scored in double figures in a
school record 45 straight games.
On Tuesday night in a game against St. Joseph's
University, Smith scored 16 points to bring his season total
to 579 points (and career total to 1,632), breaking Spencer
Dunkley's 1992-93, single-season record of 576.
