CPR classes

     The Department of Occupational Health and Safety is
sponsoring several cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) classes.
CPR for the Healthcare Professional will be offered two times,
from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturdays, March 15 and May 3, in the General
Services Building.
     Cost is $21 per person and preregistration is required.
     CPR and Choking for Adult, Child and Infant will be offered
two times, from 6-9 p.m., Wednesdays, April 16 and June 11, in
the General Services Building.
     Cost is $18 per person and preregistration is required. Call

Yearbook photos

     There are two final opportunities- from Feb. 24-28 and March
3-7-to have a senior portrait taken for the Blue Hen yearbook.
The sitting fee is $5.
     Seniors must sign up in advance, and sheets will be
available during the week prior to the sessions outside the
Yearbook Office, 234 Perkins Student Center. Pictures will be
taken in Room 219.

Blood drive

     Blood Bank of Delaware/Eastern Shore will hold two blood
drives on campus from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb.
25-26, in Multipurpose Rooms A and B of the Trabant University
Center.
     No appointments are necessary. UD employees, who also are
Blood Bank members, will receive a membership credit for donating
or they can give the credit to another member who is unable to
give blood.
     Additional blood drives are scheduled March 25 and 26 in the
Trabant University Center. Blood drives also are tentatively
planned for April and May.
     During the 1995-96 school year, 797 members of the campus
community gave blood during 13 UD blood drives.

Off-campus info

     Students planning to move off campus next year should attend
an information session-to be offered at three different times-at
2, 4 and 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 19, in the Trabant University
Center Theatre.
     The program, which will discuss Newark city services and
regulations of interest to off-campus students, is offered in
conjunction with the Delaware Undergraduate Student Congress and
the Commuter and Off-Campus Organization.

Spike for Life

     The Easter Seals Society of Del-Mar Inc. will hold the 1997
Easter Seals/Canada Dry Volleyball Challenge! from 8 a.m.-10
p.m., Saturday and Sunday, March 8-9, in the Carpenter Sports
Building.
     Money raised from this competition will benefit children and
adults in Delaware and on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Teams of 6-10
people sign up to play other teams during a two-hour rotation.
Registration fee is $50 per team and a minimum of $150 is due the
day of the event.

Dance lessons

     Learn the swing, cha cha, fox trot and other forms of dance
in a 10-week session of beginning ballroom dance lessons,
scheduled from 8-9 p.m., Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings,
beginning March 2, 4 and 6 in the Pearson Hall gym. Intermediate
lessons will be taught from 7-8 p.m., Thursdays, beginning March
6.
     Cost is $25 for full-time students and $50 for others.
Private lessons are available for $20 per hour.
     The lessons are sponsored by the UD Ballroom Dance Club.

TA training

     A "Forum to Share Ideas about TA Training and Development"
will be hosted by the Center for Teaching Effectiveness and the
TA Development Advisory Committee from noon-1:30 p.m., Tuesday,
Feb. 18, in Room 106 of the Composites Center.
     Faculty and graduate students who are interested in
discussing TA training may bring a brown bag lunch to the
session.


Radio information

     WVUD will hold a meeting for members of the University
community interested in learning how to become involved in the
station. The informational program will be held at 8 p.m.,
Tuesday, Feb. 25, in Multipurpose Room C of the Trabant
University Center.
     WVUD needs staff for all aspects of broadcasting both on and
off the air. This includes DJs, sportscasters, newspersons, sales
and public relations staff and music librarians.
