Soprano DeMent to present recital

     Soprano Melanie DeMent will present a free recital at 8
p.m., Sunday, Feb. 23, in Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du
Pont Music Building. Also appearing on the program are Julie
Nishimura, piano; and Todd Hearn, clarinet.
     The program will include works by Vivaldi, Pergolesi, Joseph
Canteloube and Arnold Cooke.
     A member of the faculty, DeMent holds a doctorate in vocal
performance from the University of North Texas. She is known for
her repertoire of Renaissance and Baroque music and has performed
throughout the region.
