Service-Learning Connection

Students interested in volunteer and internship
opportunities should plan to attend the semiannual Service-
Learning Connection program from 3:30-5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb.
19, in the Multipurpose Room of the Trabant University Center.
Representatives from 30 nonprofit organizations from New
Castle County will be present to share information and to sign up
student volunteers and interns. The event is sponsored by the
Career Services Center, the Center for Intercultural Teacher
Education (CITE) and the Delaware Association of Nonprofit
Agencies (DANA).
During this time, students and agency representatives will
have an opportunity to share information and details on an
important aspect of the college education.
Drew Hastings, executive director of DANA, said, "This is
the third time DANA and UD have collaborated on a program
designed to put students and nonprofit organizations in touch
with one another. It's one of the best ways to get the word out
to students that volunteer/internship opportunities benefit the
community as well as their resumes."
A list of participating organizations will be available at
the Career Resources Center.
