Housing staff recognized

Fifty-three employees of Housing and Conference Facilities
were recognized for outstanding service and perfect attendance at
a ceremony in December, held in Arsht Hall. Employees also were
honored for participation in activities, such as service on the
unit's advisory and safety committees, for their role as union
shop stewards and custodial technicians and for achieving
certification in various areas of job-related expertise.
The Midnight Riders, those who respond to emergency call-ins
because of flooding and other problems, also were honored.
Two new awards also were established. The Distinguished
Service Partner award was instituted to recognize outstanding
service and/or products provided by a company outside of the
University. This first award was presented to Caldwell and
Gregory and to Quality Products and Services.
The Distinguished Blue Hen Service Provider
award-recognizing outstanding service provided by individuals or
units within the University, but outside of Housing and
Conference Services-was presented to Ken Schrader and Bill
Wilson, operations mechanics in Facilities Management.
