Bella Abzug at women's conference

Bella Abzug, former congresswoman from New York and
organizer of the fourth United Nations Conference on Women held
last year in Beijing, China, will present the keynote address at
the annual Delaware Women's Conference to be held March 1 in
Clayton Hall.
Because the conference tends to sell out by mid-February,
those interested in registering for the daylong event are
encouraged to do so in early January to ensure a seat.
Registration is $30 and will include an art show, three
workshops, keynote address and lunch.
"Embrace the World" is the theme for the conference, which
is designed to appeal to all types of women, including full-time
workers, stay-at-home moms, students and retirees.
Workshop topics will include women's health issues,
political opportunities, business, acupuncture and more. Child
care and transportation from southern Delaware locations will be
available.
An art show featuring the work of female artists from the
surrounding area will begin a week before the conference at
Clayton Hall.
For registration information, call the Delaware Commission
for Women at 761-8005.
