YoUDee, friends set Holiday Jam
Ever wonder what it's like when YoUDee, the Fightin' Blue
Hen mascot, and friends get together?
On Sunday, Dec. 22, nearly a dozen FOYs (Friends of YoUDee)
will gather at the Bob Carpenter Center for a fun-filled get-
together during YoUDee's Holiday Jam.
Blue Hen basketball fans who attend the UD men's contest
against visiting Widener University also will be entertained by
the antics of such crazy creatures as WSTW's TwoKee TwoKee Bird,
J Bear from WJBR, WDSD's Scooter the Country Cougar, Ronald
McDonald of McDonald's Restaurants, Rambo representing the
Delaware Army National Guard, the Baltimore Oriole Bird, St.
Joseph's University Hawk and Slap Shot of the Washington
Capitals.
All these mascots-and maybe others-will mingle with fans in
the Carpenter Center Concourse before the game, when they will
sign autographs and be available for photographs. (Fans must
bring their own cameras.)
During halftime, the mascots will form two teams and play an
informal, pick-up basketball game.
According to Edward Stoner, public relations, "The event was
planned to allow YoUDee to have a holiday party and share the fun
with the Delaware fans and guests at the game.
"Most people have friends over for visits during this time
of year, and YoUDee wanted to do the same thing. We hope fans
will attend the game, and we're sure they will enjoy meeting and
interacting with YoUDee and friends."
The game begins at 1 p.m. For ticket information and
reservations, call UD1-HENS.
