Books in Print available online
Books in Print has been added to the list of library
networked databases available on the University of Delaware
computing network.
For almost 50 years, Books in Print has provided
researchers, libraries, booksellers and publishers with the most
comprehensive information available on millions of titles ranging
from scholarly monographs to current bestsellers.
Access via the World Wide Web is now possible for more than
1.5 million titles in print, data on 600,000 out-of-print and
out-of-stock titles and listings for more than 45,000 publishers,
distributors and wholesalers.
Books in Print gives users the capability to find a book by
author, title, subject, publisher, publication year, keyword,
language and International Standard Book Number (ISBN).
Books in Print online includes information from the paper
versions of Books in Print, Paperbound Books in Print, Law Books
in Print and Children's Books in Print.
Publications are linked to publisher information, to other
works by the same author and to other books on the same topic.
Publishers can be searched by company name, keyword and product
type. The information for each publisher includes address,
telephone number, fax number, discount information, return
policies and types of products published.
Books in Print is available not only in the University
library and throughout the campus, but also from home to
University faculty, staff and students who have an Internet
connection to the UD.
To find Books in Print, access the University of Delaware
Library home page at: http://www.lib.udel.edu
Then, select the button "Databases" to see the "Library
Networked Databases-Brief Title List." The databases are listed
alphabetically. Select the desired database; in this case, Books
in Print. The library home page also is linked from the UD home
page.
Library staff involved in providing access to this new
online database included Kristin Antelman, Dina Giambi, Gregg
Silvis and Craig Wilson.
