Record breaker

Demonstrating his winning form, UD throws coach Larry Pratt,
Delaware '63, broke the world record discus mark for his age
group (55-59) on Oct. 25 at the Huntsman World Senior Games in
St. George, Utah. His throw was 178 feet 7 inches, breaking the
1977 record by 18 inches.
Pratt set University records in both the shot put and discus
while serving as captain of Delaware's first conference
championship track and field team in 1963.
Entering his first Masters National Championships in 1980,
when he came in second in the discus, Pratt has since won 116
meets, come in second 12 times and third 16 times.
He has won four national discus titles, three national shot
put titles and one world discus title.
