Team captures tourney title

     The Blue Hens were triumphant in the first annual Blue Hen
Classic Ice Hockey tournament.
     The tournament, which ran from Nov. 29 through Dec. 1,
included youth, travel teams and collegiate teams from around the
country.
     The UD club team destroyed Central Connecticut State
University with an 11-2 victory in the semifinals. In the
championship, the Hens challenged Erie College, a non-league
member, and scored a 7-1 victory.
     "The tournament was extremely well-played, physical and fast-
paced. It was by far the best 60-minute effort of the season,"
Josh Brandwene, UD head coach, said.
     The team's next two league games will be against Duquesne,
Dec. 6, and West Chester, Dec. 7. A trip to Arizona is planned in
January.
