The Great American Smokeout
Today, the American Cancer Society is serving as host of the
Great American Smokeout, a day when smokers try to kick the habit
by learning that one day does make a difference.
The American Cancer Society has encouraged this effort by
providing quit kits, brochures and Fresh Start programs in recent
weeks.
In addition, there has been a serious effort to educate
school children about the danger of using tobacco and cigarettes.
Delaware Division of the American Cancer Society volunteers
will distribute information and Quit Kits today on the Market
Street Mall in Wilmington and at The Galleria in Newark.
