Jazz mallet artist to perform Dec. 2

     Contemporary jazz mallet performer Arthur Lipner, Delaware
'81, will present his own compositions and arrangements in a free
public concert at 8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 2, in Loudis Recital Hall
of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building.
     Lipner will perform with the UD Percussion Ensemble,
directed by Harvey Price, and the UD Jazz Ensemble, directed by
Alan Hamant.
     The UD alumnus and performer has been described as one of
the leading new jazz vibraphone and marimba artists. He has five
solo recordings and has toured Japan, Europe, Malaysia, Morocco
and the Caribbean.
     The concert is sponsored by the Department of Music and the
Office of Alumni and University Relations.
