Writers to raise money for poor

Writer's Harvest: The National Reading will offer a reading
aloud program at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 14, in Room 100 Wolf
Hall to benefit local anti-hunger organizations. Cruce Stark,
English; Robby Barringer and Devon Miller-Duggan, graduate
students in the department; David Robertson, Newark Arts
Alliance, and crime novelist Sharyn McCrumb will be among the
featured readers.
More than 500 programs will be held nationwide, with such
well-known authors as John Updike, John Grisham and Maya Angelou
reading from their works.
Since 1992, Share Our Strength's Writers Harvest has
distributed $280,000 to anti-hunger and anti-poverty programs.
The suggested donation is $3 for students, $5 for others.
The program is sponsored by Sigma Tau Delta, the national
English honor society.
