Location changes for lecture series

     The locations of two, free upcoming lectures in The State of
the Black World series have been changed to Room 124 Clayton
Hall.
     Lloyd Best, director of the Trinidad and Tobago Institute of
the West Indies, will discuss "The Enterprise of the Indies after
500 Years" on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
     The final lecture in the series, "The Tide Is Still Low: The
Employment Status of Black Women in the U.S.," will be presented
by Elizabeth Higginbotham, professor of sociology at the
University of Memphis and distinguished visiting professor at the
University of Michigan, on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

D #Sharps# set concert Nov. 8-9

     The D #Sharps# third annual fall invitational a cappella
concert, featuring groups from throughout the East Coast, will be
presented at 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Nov. 8-9, in Mitchell
Hall.
     Tickets are $4 for students and $7 for the general public.

Rock 'n' roll on campus tonight

     Jerry Elderly & the Juveniles will be featured at a free,
public rock 'n' roll and oldies concert at 8:30 tonight, Nov. 7,
in the Multipurpose Room, Trabant University Center. The
group-which has performed throughout the area-is organized by
Jerry Beasley, English.

Latter-Day Saints topic of program

     Melvyn Hammarberg, from the faculty of the University of
Pennsylvania, will present a program at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov.
13, in Room 112 Memorial Hall about research on his book in
progress The World of the Latter-Day Saints.
     The program is sponsored by the Latter-Day Saints Student
Association.

BSU to sponsor arts celebration

     Delta Sigma Theta sorority and the Black Student Union will
present "Artistic Expression," a celebration of the arts,
including an art display and talent show, at 8 p.m., Friday, Nov.
15 in Multipurpose Rooms A & B, Trabant University Center. The
admission is $1, or 50 cents with a can of food.
     Faculty members are invited to attend or participate.
