Dance lessons to begin next week
Beginning ballroom dance lessons will teach the swing, jitterbug,
cha cha, fox trot and other popular dances during 10-week sessions
from 8-9 p.m., Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, beginning Sept. 10, 12
and 15, in Pearson Hall gymnasium. Intermediate classes also will be
taught from 7-8 p.m., Thursdays, beginning Sept. 12.
Cost is $50 per person or $25 for all full-time students. Private
instruction is available for $20 per hour.
The sessions are sponsored by the UD Ballroom Dance Club. For

Hens '96 football on WVUD radio
The UD radio station, WVUD, at 91.3 FM, will broadcast all six
home football games this fall, beginning with pregame activities at
12:45 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 7, for the season opener against the
Lehigh Engineers.
Other games will be broadcast on Sept. 21, West Chester
University; Oct. 5, Boston University; Oct. 19, Northeastern
University; Oct. 26, James Madison University; and Nov. 16, University
of Rhode Island.

Arts series opens in Mitchell Hall
"The University's 1996-97 Performing Arts Series opens at 8 p.m.,
Thursday, Sept. 12, with the Irish song, music and step-dancing of the
Green Fields of America.
Individual tickets for the Sept. 12 concert are $15 for the
general public, $10 for UD faculty, staff and senior citizens and $6
for students and children. Dinner at the Blue & Gold Club is available
prior to the performance at combination prices of $27 for the general
public, $22 for UD faculty, staff and senior citizens and $11-$18 for
students and children. Children ages 5-11 can eat at the Blue & Gold
Club for $5 and children under 5 eat free. Blue & Gold Club membership
is not required to participate.
The evening's menu will include carved turkey breast, corned beef
and cabbage, linguini and clams in alfredo sauce, potatoes O'Brien,
beverage and more.

Tickets may be purchased in person at the University box offices
located at the Bob Carpenter Center, the Trabant University Center and
in Hartshorn Hall.
Individual event tickets may be purchased by calling Ticketmaster

included.
Literacy Day at 51 East Main St.
A reception will be held and an information table open from 2-5
p.m., Thursday, Sept. 12, in the Employee Services Office at 51 East
Main St., to mark National Literacy Day. The event is sponsored by the
office's Reading Improvement Program.
