Dance benefit
     A dance to benefit Habitat for Humanity will be held from 8:30
p.m.-1 a.m., Friday, Oct. 27, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 276
South College Ave.
     Cost is $8 per couple and $5 per person.


CITE programs
     Several off-campus Winter Session programs are being conducted in
cooperation with the Center for Intercultural Teacher Education in the
College of Education.
     These include sessions in Panama, South Africa, England/Scotland
and Baltimore.

Ag open house
     The College of Agricultural Sciences will host an open house for
prospective students and their families at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov.
11, in Townsend Hall.
     Visitors will meet with faculty and students, tour the facilities
and receive scholarship information.

     At 10 a.m., staff from admissions also will present a program and
conduct a campus tour.

Dinner and tales
     The Blue and Gold Club will feature a three-course dinner,
followed by a storytelling program by Ed Okonowicz about "Local
Legends of Delmarva" on Thursday, Nov. 2.
     Dinner begins at 6 p.m.; the program will start at 8 p.m. Cost is
$25 per person and includes a 12 percent service charge.

Nutrition help
     Individual nutrition counseling by a registered dietitian is
available through the University Wellness Program.
     One-on-one sessions are available to address individual concerns
regarding weight management, high cholesterol, diabetes, etc.
     Cost for the initial, 45-minute session is 30 Wellness Dollars.
Follow-up visits are 20 Wellness Dollars.

     Another program, entitled "Nutritional Concerns for Women," will
be held in four, half-hour sessions, from 1-1:30 p.m., Tuesdays, Nov.
7, 14, 21 and 28.
     The meetings will share information on reducing heart disease,
osteoporosis and different types of cancer.
     Cost is 20 Wellness Dollars.

Amateur radio
     The Amateur Radio Club at the University is looking for student
ham operators who would like to meet others.
     The club will hold class sessions for those who would like to
obtain a license or for those who would like to advance to a higher
class. Members also are needed to help repair WA3GAY-UDEL's "Shack"
and provide communication for public events in the local area.

Halloween party
     The Cosmopolitan Club will hold a Halloween Party from 9:30 p.m.-
1 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Mirage on Elkton Road.
     The party is free for members and $3 for nonmembers.


Alternative market
     An Alternative Christmas Market will be held on Saturday and
Sunday, Nov. 18-19, at Newark United Methodist Church, 69 East Main
St.
     The market provides an opportunity to make donations to
environmental and social support programs in lieu of traditional
holiday gifts.
     Gift cards are provided and sent to friends or family members,
explaining that a donation has been made in their name.
     The event is sponsored by University students who are members of
the Wesley Foundation.

Color copier
     A self-service color photocopier is now available in the Morris
Library Copy Center, located on the first floor. Cost is $1 per copy.
     This Xerox copier has many features, including the ability to
make color copies in three sizes (8-1/2 x 11 inches, 8-1/2 by 14
inches and 11 x 17 inches) and to enlarge and reduce the original
image.
     Color transparencies also may be made on a self-service basis
using special blank transparencies available at the library's Copy
Center at 50 cents per sheet.
     Copy cards may be used and are available in vending machines in
the Copy Center.


Relay forum
     A public community forum on the Delaware Relay Service will be
held from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 14, in Room A116 at Delaware
Technical and Community College's Stanton Campus, 400 Stanton-
Christiana Rd.
     Delaware Relay Service is a 24-hour telephone service used by
persons who are deaf, hard-of-hearing and speech-disabled to
communicate on the telephone. The service allows a hearing person to
use a traditional telephone while the person with a disability
communicates through a tele-typewriter (TTY) with a communication
assistant, who relays the hearing person's spoken words by typing them
back to the TTY user.
     The purpose of the session is to inform customers of relay
updates and to listen to their feedback.
     Interpreters and refreshments will be provided. There also will
be a raffle for a free AT&T 8840 TTY.
