New Web look
     New construction is just about at an end. Early next week, when
users fire up their Web browser and link to the University's home
page, they will discover a new look for U-Discover!: A refurbished UD
Web.
      New graphics have been designed to give the Web pages a fresh,
new look, and a new structure will make it easier to go directly to
the information needed.
     Users are encouraged to send comments about the changes, via e-
mail, to www@udel.edu.


Hens basketball
     The Fightin' Blue Hens basketball season is officially under way.
     The first exhibition game for the women's team's is at 1 p.m.,
Sunday, Nov. 11, against the Women's BB Alliance. The men's exhibition
season begins at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 9, against the USDBL All-
Stars.
     The women's regular season begins at 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 25,
with an away game against St. Peter's. The home opener is at 7 p.m.,
Thursday, Nov. 30, against Niagara University.
     The men's season opens at home against Washington College at 7:30
p.m., Monday, Nov. 27.
     Season ticket information has been distributed to members of the
campus community. For other ticket information, call UD1-HENS.


Staff Association
     The University Staff Association monthly luncheon will be held
from noon-1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 26, in the Rodney Room of the Perkins
Student Center.
     Representatives from Born to Craft will offer information on
creative and crafty giving, and they will demonstrate rubber stamping
and embossing, as well as work with polymer clays.
     The menu includes a sub sandwich with potato chips, tossed salad,
macaroni salad and brownies and cookies.
     Cost is $5.50 for the luncheon; 25 cents for brown baggers.
Reservations are due by Oct. 20 to Ann Raymond, 135 du Pont Hall.


Deadline Oct. 23
     Tuition Exchange Program applications for the 1996-97 academic
year are available on the World Wide Web (http://www.udel.edu/
lynam/tuitionex.html) or EMC2 Bulletin Board under "Forms."
     Individuals not connected to the Internet or EMC2 may request an
application and information from Winifred Harris at 831-6651.
     Tuition Exchange Program general information, along with a list
of colleges and universities, also are available on U-Discover!
     Under the terms of the program, dependent children of eligible
faculty, professional, salaried staff and hourly employees may apply
to attend one of approximately 300 colleges and universities
participating in the national consortium.
     The dependent must meet the resident institution's admission
requirements.
     The program can be used in conjunction with University tuition
remission, which applies to full-time, matriculated undergraduate
students.
     Completed applications must be returned by Oct. 23 to Employee
Services. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.


Fitness classes
     Fall II Fitness class registration begins at 7 p.m., Tuesday,
Oct. 24, and ends Tuesday, Oct. 31.

Hola fiesta
     The Hola group is holding a fiesta from 10 p.m.-1 a.m., Saturday,
Oct. 21, at The Mirage restaurant on Elkton Road in Newark.
     Admission is free for members and $3 for non-members. For

Cancer awareness
     Students, employees and their family members are invited to a
program on "Breast Health Awareness '95" at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 31,
in the Rodney Room of the Perkins Student Center.
     Diana Dickson-Witmer, M.D., will present information on a self-
breast examination, cancer screening and diagnostic techniques
beginning at 11:30 a.m.
     Information tables will display material on breast cancer and
screening. Participants may bring their lunch. Drinks will be provided
at no charge.

Football buffet
     A pregame football buffet will be offered from 10:45 a.m.-12:15
p.m., Saturdays, Oct. 28 and Nov. 4, at the Blue & Gold Club.
     Cost is $9.50 for adults, $5 for children (ages 5-11) and free
for children under 5. Prices include a 12 percent service charge and
transportation to the game.

TGFT reception
     Delaware educators are invited to a special TGFT-"Thank Goodness
for Teachers"-reception, scheduled from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m., Friday, Nov.
3, at Crabber's Cove, Dewey Beach.
     The evening's activities will include hors d'oeuvres, favors and
door prizes, as well as a disc jockey and dancing.
     The reception is sponsored by the University's Education Alumni
Association and the College of Education.

United Way drive
     The University's United Way Campaign continues through Oct. 31.
This year the UD goal is $155,000.
