Swimming lessons
     A Learn-to-Swim program, being offered by members of the UD
Swimming Team, is open to all area youngsters.
     All levels of instruction-from beginner through advanced-will be
offered in eight-session units, scheduled from 4-4:45 p.m., Sundays,
from Oct. 15 through Dec. 10, in the Harry Rawstrom Pool in the
Carpenter Sports Building.
     Cost is $50 per class and registration must be received by Oct.
13.
     Class sizes are limited, and late registration will not be
accepted.
     Registration forms are available in the lobby of the Carpenter
Sports Building. Call John Hayman, swimming coach and aquatic

Hola meetings
     The Hola Club offers opportunities to talk to native speakers of
Spanish in a relaxed environment.
     Hola members meet at 5 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of
each month and at noon on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the
month at the Deer Park. Nonmembers are invited to attend the group's
meetings.
     Individuals attending must pay for their own food.

     Hola also will be hosting a fiesta from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday,
Oct. 21, at the Mirage Restaurant in Newark.
     Cost is $3 for nonmembers. Members are free.


Anchor Splash
     Delta Gamma's first annual Anchor Splash, to help raise money for
the blind, will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Nov. 8, 9 and 11, in the
Harry Rawstrom Pool at the Carpenter Sports Building.
     The event will feature swimming relays, banner competitions and
prizes.

5K for Mission
     The UD Episcopal Campus Ministry will hold its sixth annual 5K
for Mission at 9 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 21, to benefit New Castle County
chapters of Habitat for Humanity International.
     Participants may run, walk or in-line skate.
     Registration before Oct. 16 is $10 ($9 for full-time, UD
students). After Oct. 16, registration is $12 per person ($10 for full-
time UD students). Race day registration begins at 7:45 a.m. at St.
Thomas' Episcopal Church, South College Avenue and Park Place, in
Newark.

MOSAIC meetings
     MOSAIC, the multicultural educational group, meets at 7 p.m.,
Mondays, in the Educational Resource Center in the Willard Hall
Education Building.
     The group focuses on activities that will prepare future teachers
for the diversity they will face in the classroom.
     Anyone interested in teaching is welcome to attend.

Game, wine dinner
     The Blue and Gold Club is offering a dinner featuring wild game
and complementing wines on Thursday, Oct. 19.
     Hors d'oeuvres will be served at 7 p.m.; dinner begins at 7:30.
Cost is $60 per person.
