UD contributions at work

     The goal of the University's 1995 United Way campaign is
$155,000. The following list shows all of the things that a $155,000
United Way contribution may provide:

  1,397   hours of tutoring/dropout prevention programming for
            Delaware youths,
    531   nutritious meals for the hungry and homeless,
  1,677   hours of homemaker/personal care assistance for disabled
            senior citizens,
    419   victims of a house fire with emergency food, clothing and
            shelter,
  1,397   hot meals delivered to the homebound elderly,
    419   weeks of assistance and support for domestic violence
            victims,
    559   adolescent victims of sexual abuse with crisis counseling
            services,
    279   children with sexual abuse with drug/alcohol prevention
            education,
    978   rape victims with crisis counseling services,
  3,214   physically disabled children with independent living skills
            training to prevent institutional placement,
    699   individuals with life saving first aid/CPR training,
    279   underprivileged children with a week of wilderness camping,
  7,685   emergency telephone links for deaf persons statewide,
    279   weeks of residential treatment services for two recovering
            alcoholics and
    279   nights of emergency shelter for a homeless person.
