Graduate award

     Kishore Ballal, a graduate student in operations research,
received the Otto E. Trefz Memorial Scholarship from the Society of
Logistics Engineers.
     Ballal received one of six awards presented to students in the
United States at the group's international symposium, held in San
Antonio in August. He was recognized for his master's thesis proposal
in the area of logistics, named the best in the U.S.
     Ballal, a native of India, is advised by Palaniappa Krishnan,
associate professor of agricultural engineering.
