United Way campaign kickoff set for Monday

     United Way solicitors from units across campus will attend the
1995 United Way campaign kickoff, scheduled for 3:30 p.m., Monday,
Oct. 9, in the Bob Carpenter Center.
     The program will include a screening of the University's 1995
United Way video, which features more than a dozen members of the
campus community, followed by a reception for solicitors and guests.
The Student Jazz Ensemble also will perform.
     In addition, the results of the University's Pacesetters Campaign
will be announced. The pacesetters drive represents contributions from
senior-level administrators who make their contributions before the
official kickoff to support and promote the general campaign.
     As in past years, the University will conduct an incentive raffle
program to encourage employees to give or increase their United Way
contributions.
     Members of the University's United Way Campaign 1995 Planning
Committee are Robert Dilorio, media services; Karen Garrett, co-
chairperson, employee services; Pete Hayward, vice president and
University secretary; Mary Hempel, public relations; Joyce Henderson,
co-chairperson, employee services; Charlene Jaeger, student life;
