academic year are available on the World Wide Web
(http://www.udel.edu/lynam/tuitionex.html) or EMC2 Bulletin Board
under "Forms."
Individuals not connected to the Internet or EMC2 may request an
application and information from Winifred Harris at 831-6651.
Tuition Exchange Program general information along with a list of
colleges and universities are available on UDiscover.
Under the terms of the program, dependent children of eligible
faculty, professional, salaried staff and hourly employees may apply
to attend one of approximately 300 colleges and universities
participating in the national consortium. The dependent must meet the
resident institution's admission requirements.
The TEP can be used in conjunction with the University's tuition
remission program, which applies to full-time, matriculated
undergraduate students.
Completed applications must be returned to Employee Services by
Oct. 23. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
'Save the Books'
The University Library and Dining Services are presenting an
awareness campaign, entitled "Save the Books: Don't Eat or Drink in
the Library," through Oct. 9.
The program is designed to discourage the presence of food and
drink in the Morris Library beyond the designated eating area in the
Library Commons Cafe.
Library staff, custodial staff and Dining Services personnel are
wearing special buttons to remind library users of the need to protect
the materials, equipment and facilities. Table tents that describe how
food and drink harm the library have been placed on study tables and
carrels throughout the facility.
According to campaign co-coordinator Anita Shaughnessey, "Often
people do not realize that beverage spills can fuse the pages of books
and make them unreadable, cause pages to wrinkle and binding to pull
away, promote mold and mildew and ruin video equipment, computer
keyboards, films, microfiche, etc. Food debris attracts insects that
stain books and eat book covers, glue and paper."
In addition, food and drink mishaps blemish carpets and make
study carrels and tables sticky and unpleasant for the next user.
Julia Hamm, library, and Irene Felker, Dining Services, also are
co-coordinators.
Employment help
The Career Services Center is sponsoring "International Students
and the Job Search,"a program to help international students find
employment in the United States, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. this afternoon in
the Ewing Room of the Perkins Student Center.
Fall enrollment
Official undergraduate enrollment on the Newark campus this
semester totals 14,668, with 691 students in the University Parallel
Program. Graduate enrollment totals 3,224, and there are 2,782
students enrolled in continuing education programs.
The total-21,365-is slightly below last fall's total of 21,585.
