Professional theatre program plans its first Alumni Season
The University of Delaware's Professional Theatre Training
Program will welcome back successful graduates this fall for special
appearances as its first Alumni Season gets under way. Actors who have
worked on Broadway, in regional theatres and in film and television
will return to Newark to present a season that ranges from riotous to
riveting.
The season opens with Private Lives by Noel Coward, a satire of
marriage, divorce and everything in between. Audience members can
follow Amanda and Elyot through their adventures from Thursday, Oct.
26, to Saturday, Nov. 18.
The season continues with On the Verge, Eric Overmyer's mystical
tale of three Victorian women who travel through time from 1888 into
the 1950s. The show runs from Thursday, Nov. 2 to Saturday, Nov. 18.
Scheduled from Thursday, Jan. 25, to Saturday, Feb. 3, is Faith
Healer by Brian Friel. Friel's drama tells the story of an itinerant
healer, his wife and his manager as they plod from village to village,
providing inhabitants with the gift of spontaneous recovery.
Next, watch Martha and Abby, two spinsters who take it upon
themselves to "help lonely old men find peace" by murdering them in
Arsenic and Old Lace. Enjoy the fun when the Brewsters' nephew finds
out about their pastime in this favorite by Joseph Kesselring. The
show will be presented from Thursday, April 25, to Saturday, May 18.
The last show, which is to be announced, will run from Thursday,
May 2, to Saturday, May 18.
All performances are in Hartshorn Hall.
Season tickets range from $19.75 for students to $53.75 for the
general public. Also available are flexible vouchers, which allow
