Lions Club honors Newark member
C Joanne Danoff, a senior secretary in the Department of
Geography, has been named a Melvin Jones Fellow by the Lions Club
International Foundation for "dedicated humanitarian services."
It is the highest form of recognition conferred by the
foundation. Danoff, who retires Sept. 30 after more than 17 years at
the University, has been active in Lions Club activities since joining
the Newark club in 1990. She has been a member of the board and active
in a number of fundraising and charitable committees.
