Convocation on Sept. 3

     Members of the Class of 2000 will be welcomed to campus by
President David P. Roselle at the New Student Convocation ceremony, at
11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 3, on the North Mall.
     Provost Mel Schiavelli will give the keynote address to new
students. During the ceremony, the Francis Alison Award will be
presented to Donald L. Sparks, Distinguished Professor of Soil
Science.
     Jacy C. Ippolito will accept the Class of 2000 flag from Staci A.
Ward, president of the Delaware Undergraduate Student Congress.
     Angelyn R. Robinson, accompanied by the Delaware Brass, will lead
the audience in the University of Delaware Alma Mater.
     In the event of rain, the ceremony will be moved into Mitchell
Hall for all undeclared students. The decision on how to handle rain
for all other majors is being left up to each college and coordinated
by the respective dean's offices.
