Programs mark manufacturing

     The Delaware Manufacturing Alliance (DMA) is sponsoring
Manufacturing Appreciation Week, Sept. 16-20, with several events
focusing on manufacturing's economic importance. DMA assists
manufacturers with a variety of services, including financial
resources, environmental concerns, improved plant layouts and new
technology.
     The week's events, which are free of charge except for the
manufacturing public policy program, include:
        * Open house and governor's official proclamation, 11:30 a.m.-
          3 p.m., Monday, Sept. 16, DMA office, Suite 301, Delaware
          Technology Park, Newark;
        * Pollution prevention roundtable, 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 17,
          DMA office, Suite 301, Delaware Technology Park;
        * Seminar: "Selling to the State," 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.,
          Tuesday, Sept. 17, WDEL Business Exchange, New Amstel Room,
          Holiday Inn Downtown, Wilmington;
        * Rapid prototyping information session, 9 a.m.-noon,
          Wednesday, Sept. 18, Room 106, UD Center for Composite
          Materials;
        * Workforce training conference, 8-11:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept.
          19, Delaware Technical & Community College, Owens Campus,
          Georgetown; and
        * Manufacturing public policy forum, "Challenges in Building a
          Strong Manufacturing Base," and presentation of
          Manufacturing Excellence Awards, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Fri.,
          Sept 20, UD Clayton Hall, fee $50 by Sept. 3 and $65 through
          Sept. 17.
