More requests for housing

There has been an upswing in on-campus housing requests from
freshman, transfer and upperclass students, but all students who
applied before Aug. 1 are being accommodated, according to David
Butler, executive director of Housing and Conference Services.
Approximately 300 more students applied for housing this year
than last. As a result, there will be approximately 151 triple rooms,
and 30 students will be accommodated in triples in Dickinson floor
lounges, down from the 76 students housed in lounges in 1993.
Students and parents have been notified, and the response has
been positive and cooperative, Butler said.
The students in triple rooms and lounges will receive reduced
rates until spaces become available, and they can move into other
rooms.
