'Money' names UD 'best buy'
The University of Delaware ranks 73rd in Money magazine's seventh
annual ranking of top values in four-year undergraduate schools in
America.
UD was ranked 24th among the 25 best buys in public schools
across the country when using in-state tuition and fees for the
analysis and also came in 15th out of the 25 best buys in the Mid-
Atlantic area.
Featured in the magazine's September issue, the ranking of 150
schools is based on an analysis of cost and academic quality at more
than 1,000 colleges.
The magazine used 16 measures of educational quality, including
entrance exam results, faculty resources and deployment, library
resources, instructional and student services budgets, four-, five-
and six-year graduation rates and default ratios on graduates' student
loans.
These data were then compared to tuition and fees to arrive at a
value rating.
