Travel tax tips
The University is exempt from sales and/or hotel taxes in some
states.
When traveling on University business or making arrangements for
events at hotels and restaurants, travelers should check on the
University's status in that state.
Currently, five states-Delaware, Florida, Kentucky, New Jersey
and Texas-allow exemption from both sales and hotel taxes.
Each state has different requirements to receive these
exemptions. Most of the time, submitting the proper form is the only
requirement, and many of these forms are available in UD Purchasing.
For information about the tax status of a particular state or to
request a form, call Carol Hadden at 831-2166 or send e-mail to
Carol.Hadden@mvs.udel.edu.

For GUR guidelines and an application, please call the Office of
the Provost for Research, at 831-2136, or send e-mail to
