'Life in the fast food lane'
Employees are eligible to sign up to attend a Wellness nutrition
program on "Nourishment for the Mind" at the Perkins Student Center
for a cost of 10 Wellness Dollars.
A variety of appropriate topics will be presented by Marianne
Carter, registered dietitian, during noon hour sessions scheduled on a
number of Fridays from Sept. 22 through Dec. 8.
The topic of the first session, on Sept. 22, is "Life in the Fast
Food Lane," where participants will learn tips on basic nutrition and
how to eat well without spending a large amount of time in planning
and preparation.
Information also will focus on the healthy choices at fast food
restaurants.
Other scheduled sessions include information on "Boning Up on
Calcium," Oct. 6; "How to Reduce the Fat in Your Diet," Oct. 13;
"Nutrition and Cancer Prevention," Oct. 27; "Recipe Modification,"
Nov. 10; "Holiday Survival," Nov. 17; "Cholesterol and Heart Disease,"
Dec. 1; and "Holiday Survival" (repeated program), Dec. 8.
