AWARDS

     Henry R. Glyde, physics and astronomy, was awarded five days of
     experimental research time on the IRIS instrument, the highest
     resolution neutron scattering instrument for measurement of the
     dynamics of materials, at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, United
     Kingdom.

SERVICE

     David Hollowell, executive vice president, was elected to the
     board of directors, WSFS Financial Corp.

     Henry R. Glyde, physics and astronomy, served on a review panel,
     seeking to upgrade neutron scattering instrumentation for the
     U.S. Department of Energy national laboratories in May,
     Chantilly, Va.

     Margaret Andersen, sociology, was named coordinator of the
     Delaware planning committee of the American Council on
     Education's national identification program for the Advancement
     of Women in Higher Education Administration.

     Karl W. Boer, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Physics and
     Solar Energy, was appointed to the editorial board, Energy
