WTC honors 16 student athletes

     Wilmington Trust Co. has awarded 16 UD student athletes partial
scholarships for the 1996-97 academic year as part of its Best of the
Blue Hens program, also sponsored by Delmarva Broadcasting Co.
     Now in its eighth year, the program also recognizes an "Athlete
of the Week" and awards scholarship money to a junior letter winner
with the highest grade point index.
     The latest awardees are Jim Caboy, men's lacrosse; Hank Clement,
golf; Sarah Cowles, women's cross country; Scott Gellert, baseball;
Beth Hatt, women's soccer; Michael Haughey, men's swimming; Melissa
Hefner, women's lacrosse; Kristen Kayatta, softball; Subash
Parameswaran, men's tennis; Kris-Andra Pekar, volleyball; Cindy
Pilipczuk, women's tennis; Tara Pointin, women's track and field;
Brian Rubin, men's cross country; Alison Seested, women's swimming;
Tom Spahr, men's track and field; and Darin Triolo, men's soccer.
