Alum named new assistant trainer
Former New York Jets athletic trainer Darryl Conway, Delaware
'93, has joined the UD athletics staff as assistant athletic trainer.
A native of Beltsville, Md., Conway joins a training staff that
includes head trainer Keith Handling, along with Joan Couch and Mike
Higgins.
Conway earned his master's degree in sports medicine and sports
management from Adelphi University. After graduating from Delaware, he
joined the New York Jets training staff and was with the National
Football League team until this past spring. For the previous two
summers, he served as director of the UD Athletic Training Workshop.
While a student at Delaware, Conway was head student trainer for
both the UD football and men's basketball teams, helped establish a
computerized record-keeping system in Delaware's weight-training
facilities and was active with the Delaware Special Olympics program.
