AWARDS

     John G. Elias, electrical engineering, was a member of a research
     team selected to receive a 1996 DuPont Excellence in Engineering
     Award, which recognizes those individuals or teams who have made
     outstanding engineering contributions to the DuPont Co.
     competitive advantage in a global marketplace. The team developed
     and installed an on-line defect detection system for the Kapton(r)
     film production process.

     J. Thomas Sims, plant and soil sciences, received a research
