International banking
Some 400 bankers from throughout the U.S. and abroad were on the
Newark campus during June, participating in the Stonier Graduate
School of Banking, sponsored by the American Bankers Association.
Stonier, which has existed for than 60 years, has been held on
the Delaware campus since 1985.
Designed for those who have demonstrated high managerial
potential, Stonier offers a three-year certificate program for
executive bankers, with a concentrated curriculum focusing on "real
world" problems.
Although this year's session was shorter than previous years,
classes were held longer, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., according to
Robert Schweitzer, chairperson of the Department of Finance at the
University, who coordinates the program.
