Honoring excellence

     One of the highlights of last week's Honors Weekend ceremonies
was the announcement of faculty recognized for excellence in teaching
and advising. This year's recipients, from left, are excellence-in-
teaching award winners Ardeshir Faghri, civil engineering; W. Gary
Smith, plant and soil sciences; Deborah Allen, biology; U. Carl
Toensmeyer, food and resource economics; and excellence-in-advising
award recipient William Harris, economics. Each faculty member also
received a $2,500 award.
