Grade service is expanded through UDPHONE system

Modifications in the UDPHONE system have improved the grade
reporting system, and students will, for the first time this spring,
be able to receive complete grade information, including course
grades, term grade point average (GPA), cumulative GPA and class rank
on the phone.
The system also will now inform a student if he or she is on the
dean's list.
According to Elizabeth Carney, registrar's office, UDPHONE grade
reporting service has been popular with students from its beginning,
even though it gave limited information.
With these recent improvements, Carney added, it's expected that
more students will take advantage of the service.
"Adding these features to UDPHONE made sense," Carney said,
"since many students already use the kiosks in the Student Services
Building or SIS+ Personal Access through the World Wide Web to obtain
this information."
A second feature of UDPHONE will enable students to ask that a
printed grade report be mailed to their permanent or local addresses.
This is comparable to services available at kiosks or on the World
Wide Web where students are able to print copies of their grade
reports.
"With this new service in place," Carney said, "it will no longer
be necessary for the University to mail grade reports to all students.
It will be done selectively, only to students who make specific
requests through UDPHONE."
Students who are unable to use UDPHONE, a kiosk or the World Wide
Web to obtain their grades should contact the registrar's office at
831-2131 before leaving campus to make special arrangements to have a
grade report mailed to them.
