Michael Mason to open for Alison Krauss

     Songwriter and guitarist Michael Mason will be the opening act
for the Alison Krauss and Union Station concert May 5 in the Bob
Carpenter Center. Mason has appeared on TNN and has opened for such
stars as Keith Whitley, Charlie Pride, Dolly Parton and Ronnie Dove.
He has two albums to his credit and is now working on a third.
     Krauss was the 1996 Grammy winner for country female vocalist of
the year and the Country Music Association's 1995 female vocalist of
the year.
     Her most recent recording on Rounder Records, Now That I've Found
You: A Collection, has gone platinum and attracted the attention of
media and new fans across the country.
     Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show are $15 for UD students with ID
(limit two), $17.50 for others with UD ID and $20 for the general
public, and they are on sale at the Bob Carpenter Center and Perkins
Student Center box offices and by phone through Ticketmaster at 984-
2000.
