Landscape photography exhibit to open in University Gallery

Landscapes and Gardens: The Photography of Gottlieb Hampfler"
will be on free public display in the west wing of the University
Gallery from May 10 through July 12.
Hampfler was the staff photographer at Longwood Gardens for 20
years until his retirement in 1975.
The exhibition opens with a free, public reception honoring the
photographer from 4:30-7 p.m., Friday, May 10, in the University
Gallery.

Gardens founder Pierre S. du Pont. However, his passion was for
photography. He started freelancing in 1938 and has since been named
president of numerous camera clubs, has lectured extensively and has
received many photography awards. The photographs showcased in the
exhibit will include several du Pont family gardens, as well as
landscapes and individual plants in both color and black and white.

College.
