Workshops on conflict scheduled

     A series of workshops on conflict management and problem
resolution strategies has been scheduled to help people move through
their differences toward positions that everyone can support.
     Learning how to find this common ground is and important step in
the work of bringing people together, both in and out of the
classroom.
     In the classroom, faculty and teaching assistants who are using
group approaches will learn ways to teach students to resolve
conflicts and handle controversial issues.
     The following workshops are scheduled.
       Date:      Wednesday, Oct. 4
       Time:      8  a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
       Location:  Kirkwood Room

       Date:      Friday, Nov. 17
       Time:      8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
       Location:  Collins Room

       Date:      Wednesday, Dec. 13
       Time:      8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
       Location:  Collins Room

     A prerequisite for these sessions is the all-day "Welcoming
Diversity" workshop listed on page 11.
     Preregistration is required at least three days in advance for
