Retirees meeting
The University of Delaware Association of Retired Faculty will
meet this fall from 11:45 a.m.-1:45 p.m. All meetings will be in the
Perkins Student Center.
The scheduled brown-bag luncheon discussions will take place on
Tuesday, Oct. 10, in the Collins Room; Tuesday, Oct. 24, in the
Collins Room; Wednesday, Nov. 7, in the Read Room; Tuesday, Nov. 21,
in the Read Room; and Tuesday, Dec. 12, in the Read Room.

Tourney change
Alpha Phi's third annual Volleyball Tournament to benefit the
American Heart Association of Delaware will be held Sunday, Oct. 1.
Originally, the event was scheduled for Sept. 16.
The fundraising effort will be held on Harrington Beach, behind
the Perkins Student Center.

Homecoming 5K
The annual Homecoming 5K Run/Walk will begin at 9:30 a.m.
Saturday, Oct. 14, on Kent Way, in front of the Blue and Gold Club.
Cost is $8, before Oct. 11, and $10, between 8:30-9:15 a.m., on the
day of the race.

Estate planning
The Complete 1995 Estate Planning Workshop for current and former
University employees will be held from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 19, in
the President's Room of the Blue and Gold Club.
Hosted by John E. T. Taylor, Delaware '80, of Diamond State
Financial Group, and Bruce W. Tigani, Delaware '78, of Werb, Tigani,
Hood & Sullivan attorneys at law, the free seminar will cover such
topics as "Create a Living Trust," "Tax Laws for Delaware,
Pennsylvania and Maryland," "Learn the Dangers of Joint Ownership" and
"Recognize the Tax Implications of the 1995 Congress."

Cooking class
The Blue and Gold Club will offer a cooking class, directed by
chef Daniel Briggs, from 5-9 p.m., Monday, Oct. 2. After preparing the
four-course dinner, participants will share their creations. Cost is
$25 per person.

Community Day
Newark Community Day will be held from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday,
Sept. 17, on the University Mall. The event will feature live music,
children and family activities, food, crafts, exhibits and information
booths.
The rain date is Sept. 24.
Fitness Expo
Fitness Expo '95, sponsored by the Employee Fitness Center (EFC),
is being held from 6 a.m.-8 a.m., 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.-6
p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 20, in the back gymnasium of the Carpenter
Sports Center.
The event will include information about the basics in fitness
and nutrition, low-fat snacks and recipes, a tour of the EFC,
information about campus fitness programs available to all employees,
an opportunity to meet and talk to the EFC trained fitness staff and
prize drawings.
