Awards luncheon to recognize 181 employees
A service awards luncheon will be held this afternoon in the
Rodney Room of the Perkins Student Center to recognize 181 University
faculty and staff with five, 10 and 15 years of service, along with
nine recipients of the first President's Innovation Award.
The event will be hosted by University President David P.

The recipients of the first University of Delaware President's
Innovation Award to be honored at the luncheon include Steven Fols and
Pat Davis, Management Information Services; Barbara Garrison, public
relations; Bonnie Meldrom and Helen Morgan, benefits services; Nancy
Wallace, benefits; Shirley Worden, employee relations; and Gail
Armstrong and Meg Williamson, publications.
They were recognized for their cooperation in developing FLEX BY
PHONE, the interactive voice response system that enables employees to
access personal benefits information and to make changes in their
benefits during a enrollment period. In its first year, the program
was used by more than 1,200 employees.
FLEX BY PHONE was a team effort that involved personnel from a
number of offices and had as its goal the enhancement of services for
University employees.
