Research on women Geis conference focus

     The Geis Student Research on Women Conference, a program to
provide recognition of student excellence in research, will be held
from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Thursday, April 25, in the Kirkwood Room of the
Perkins Student Center.
     The program will begin with a welcome from Beth Haslett, acting
director of the Women's Studies Interdisciplinary Program.
     The morning session will focus on social issues, and the
afternoon session will explore the field of the humanities. Each
presentation will be followed by a five-minute discussion.
     After a reception and refreshments for participants and the
audience at 4 p.m. in the Blue and Gold Room of the Perkins Student
Center, the graduate and undergraduate winners will be announced.
     The conference is sponsored by the Office of Women's Affairs and
the Women's Studies Interdisciplinary Program, in cooperation with the
Commission on the Status of Women and the Office of the President.
