Athletics reassigned
Intercollegiate athletics on the campus will report to President
David P. Roselle, effective July 1, a reassignment that mirrors the
reporting arrangement in place at most colleges and universities
nationally.
Athletics has recently had a dual reporting line to the dean of
the College of Physical Education, Athletics and Recreation and to the
president. This arrangement was made when the college was formed in
1980. In earlier years, athletics had reported to the president.
According to Edgar M. Johnson, director of athletics, Delaware's
program includes 11 varsity sports for men and 11, soon to be 12, for
women.
