Burnaby Munson selected for spectrometry research award

Burnaby Munson, chemistry and biochemistry, has been selected for
the American Society for Mass Spectrometry Research Award, to be given
at the organization's conference in May. With this award, he has
received all the major prizes a mass spectrometrist can win for
research, according to Jean Futrell, chairperson of the Department of
Chemistry and Biochemistry.
Munson, who holds bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees from
the University of Texas, joined the UD faculty in 1967. He has served
as director of the University Honors Program and was selected for the
Francis Alison Faculty Award in 1992.
He has published extensively in his field. Among his professional
awards, he received the Field and Franklin Award for Outstanding
Achievement in Mass Spectroscopy from the American Chemical Society in
1992. That year he also received the Delaware Section Award of the
American Chemical Society.
